If your home is in need of a new shingle roof and you are pretty confident about the roofing company that you have chosen to hire, there are just a few things that you need to do prior to having the project started. These steps will ensure that you do not encounter any trouble once the roofing project is underway.
Be Mindful Of Your Neighbors
A roofing contractor will be likely to follow a schedule that is dependent upon the jobs that their company has been hired for. If there are specific jobs that need to be completed sooner than your's, you may find that your new roof is installed during inopportune times. Level with the contractor when you first hire the roofing company and let it be known what times you are open to having the installation work completed.
Be mindful of your neighbors and give them a heads up about the project that will be taking place at your house. If the noise level is bothersome or if one or more of your neighbors are planning to have visitors at their home, perhaps you could make some adjustments with the roofing installation project so that it is completed at a time that is more convenient for you and the others.
Trim Branches And Provide The Roof With A Clean Sweep
If you tend to your property's landscaping needs and don't have a problem with trimming tree and plant branches on your own, visually inspect the rooftop to determine if there are any branches that are located within the proximity of the area where the roofing crew will be working.
The contractor and crew members may not be concerned about encountering branches while they are completing their work, but there is always the possibility of an injury occurring, which could result in dire circumstances. Trim the branches that are near the rooftop and use a broom to provide the rooftop with a clean sweep.
Look Into A Warranty
The roofing contractor may mention a warranty when you first contact them, but what does this really mean? You need to know how long the warranty is effective and if the warranty will cover replacement parts and labor if adjustments need to be made to the new roof. Don't hesitate to ask the contractor to explain the terms of the warranty and point out each area of concern that is listed on your written contract.

Welcome to my website. I'm Albert Frost. Besides my dad, one of my biggest role models was my uncle Rick. He was a construction contractor who would let me come on his construction sites and also taught me everything he knew about building homes, including how to install hardwood flooring and add insulation. I always wanted to grow up to build houses like my uncle. I used to help my uncle with a lot of the grunt work needed to make a home a reality. But then I hurt my back playing football. Until I heal completely, I'm going to devote as much of my time as possible to teaching others about various construction topics I'm interested in.
