3 Ideas For Choosing New Kitchen Cabinets With A Focus On Easy Cleaning

Construction & Contractors Blog

Remodeling your kitchen may be out of your budget, but replacing older cabinets may be a project that you can afford to tackle. If you want to get new kitchen cabinets installed in your kitchen due to the new look it can give the room or even the extra storage they can provide, it's important that you consider the work that will be involved with cleaning. By knowing how to choose cabinets that are easy to clean, you can avoid time-consuming cleanings and make sure that your kitchen can be cleaned without much trouble—cabinets included.

Make Sure Vinyl Liners Can Be Inserted

An easy way to make sure that your kitchen cabinets are easy to clean time and time again is through getting vinyl liners inserted into the bottom of each cabinet. What this will do is ensure that you can simply remove the liner and give them a good cleaning when needed. This can make removing crumbs and other grime inside the cabinets much easier on you. Vinyl liners can be found in a variety of styles and sizes, with many even allowing you to simply trim the liners to fit in your kitchen cabinets if needed.

Stick with Semi-Gloss if the Cabinets Will Be Painted

Painting the front of the cabinets can give them an entirely new look, but choosing the wrong kind of paint can make them difficult to clean. When choosing the type of paint for your kitchen cabinets, make sure to stick with semi-gloss paint due to how resistant it is to both moisture and food particles. This can make wiping down your kitchen cabinets a breeze since they can be wiped clean without any resistance.

Opt for Hardware That Won't Show Grime

When picking the hardware to have installed on your kitchen cabinets, you want to make sure that they won't be easy to trap grime and even show fingerprints. Many people choose just any type of hardware for knobs and pulls that fit in with the rest of the kitchen. While you want to achieve the look you want, you need to make sure that the hardware won't show wear and tear so that your kitchen cabinets can look pristine without extensive cleaning being needed regularly.

Replacing the cabinets in your kitchen can go a long way towards giving the room a new look. By focusing on how easy the cabinets will be to clean, you can make sure that they look great and that you won't struggle with extensive cleaning later.

All About Building a Home

Welcome to my website. I'm Albert Frost. Besides my dad, one of my biggest role models was my uncle Rick. He was a construction contractor who would let me come on his construction sites and also taught me everything he knew about building homes, including how to install hardwood flooring and add insulation. I always wanted to grow up to build houses like my uncle. I used to help my uncle with a lot of the grunt work needed to make a home a reality. But then I hurt my back playing football. Until I heal completely, I'm going to devote as much of my time as possible to teaching others about various construction topics I'm interested in.
