Kitchen remodeling, although rewarding, can be stressful. This is especially true of remodels that render the kitchen unusable for extended periods of time. To work around this inconvenience, many homeowners set up temporary kitchens in their garage or spare room--but this isn't the only way to survive your remodel. These tips will help you get through the kitchen remodel and have fun with your family in the process.
1. Schedule Your Remodel During Your Next Vacation
This may be one of the best options for surviving a kitchen remodel: simply go away for a few weeks, and return when the work is finished. If you're going to go this route, work carefully with your contractor to ensure that he has all the information he needs in order to complete the work while you're gone. Avoid going anywhere too remote where your contractor won't be able to contact you with questions and concerns.
2. Camp Out in the Back Yard
If the weather allows, take your children camping in the back yard. Use a gas-powered cooking stove to cook your foods, and set up a tent for you and your children to sleep in. If you have a fire pit in your back yard, cook meats and smores over a fire, while you tell stories and sing songs.
3. Live In Your RV
Not everyone has an RV, but if you do, now is the perfect time to use it. You can take the RV to a local camp ground, or simply use it in your driveway. This option is relaxing for both parents and children. Children enjoy living in the RV because it's an adventure, and parents enjoy this option because it takes them away from the chaos of the remodel.
4. Join Restaurant Reward Clubs
Eating out at restaurants can get expensive, but restaurant reward clubs can help make this option more affordable. To find out which restaurants offer rewards clubs, call the big restaurant chains in your area. Those restaurant chains that don't offer reward clubs often have coupons and other money-saving options for frequent customers. Ask the chain restaurants in your area about email lists and newsletters that distribute coupons to customers.
Good luck with your upcoming kitchen remodel. Your house will be messy and chaotic for a little while, but it will all be worth it when you're eating in your brand new, beautiful kitchen. Hopefully the time spent waiting for your remodel to be finished will be fun for your family. To learn more, visit Wetherington Restoration & Remodeling Inc.Share

Welcome to my website. I'm Albert Frost. Besides my dad, one of my biggest role models was my uncle Rick. He was a construction contractor who would let me come on his construction sites and also taught me everything he knew about building homes, including how to install hardwood flooring and add insulation. I always wanted to grow up to build houses like my uncle. I used to help my uncle with a lot of the grunt work needed to make a home a reality. But then I hurt my back playing football. Until I heal completely, I'm going to devote as much of my time as possible to teaching others about various construction topics I'm interested in.
